General information:  
> The Center for Scientific Support in Disasters - CENACID join scientists with special training to face  disaster situations and provide scientific information and support in disaster response.  The center was  asked to provide scientific support in many opportunities including national and international  emergencies as floods, landslides, oil spills, earthquakes, forest fires and volcano eruption.
The CENACID team was deployed to many disasters in Brazil and South and Central Americas. To participate in the team it is necessary to fill in the inscription form and to participate in the introductory training course.

GIS software “VICON-SAGA-desastres”  
>CENACID in a  jointed project with Federal University of Paraná and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro developed a specific Geographic Information  System – G.I.S. useful to help the disaster management, called “VICON-SAGA desastres”. The software “VICON/SAGA-desastres” was idealized to build data base structures easily accessible and easy to be updated. This Geographic Information System can store texts,numbers, images and maps. It is possible also emit digital and hard copy reports
